WEDDING FILMMAKERS CAPTURING STORIES OF FOUND LOVE

MIKE DALTON | filmmaker/editor

I started out making YouTube prank videos. Yep, let's get that out of the way first. Even though they were prank videos, I always had a passion for filmmaking. I followed that passion and since have been very fortunate. I now have the honor of capturing the most special day of a couple's life and telling that story.

When I am not behind the camera, I am most likely behind the camera at Bruton Stroube Studios where I work as a Camera Operator. When I am not behind that camera, you can find me singing karaoke, enjoying a gin and tonic at Tick Tock Tavern, or eating waffles. I love waffles.

EMILY PFEIFFER | filmmaker/office manager

I found my love for this field when I took my first photography class sophomore year of high school. I feel the most motivated and passionate when I'm standing behind the camera; I see the world from so many different angles. Because I want to get the most interesting shot, I analyze my surroundings and really take in what's around me. If I don't have the camera pointed at the couple, I'm off somewhere filming trees, plants, and anything nature.

When I'm not behind the camera you can find me thrifting for anything and everything mid century modern at the local store or on craigslist, watching Netflix with the pups, at the grimiest dive bar drinking gin and tonic, or at my other job slinging tacos to awesome people at Mission Taco - Soulard.

OUR TRADITION

We have made a pact in our relationship to travel somewhere new every year. We have called the series "not lost".

1. not lost // LA

2. not lost // PORTLAND

BOTH OF US

together: Emily had lived in a two family house for 2 years before Mike moved in upstairs. When they had their first interaction discussing the internet bill that Mike may have been late on, they were almost inseparable. They spent a lot of nights playing Just Dance, walking to Tick Tock Tavern to drink gin and tonics, and going bowling. Emily got back from a two month trip to Europe and they knew that there was much more than just a friendship between them. Mike then asked Emily to be his girlfriend with a little turquoise necklace that you can always find around Emily's neck.

from emily: Mike is one of the most passionate people I have met. I've never seen someone so in love with what they do. He's always trying to stay on top of trends, constantly learning new techniques, and wants to always be behind the camera whether its filming or just taking pictures of me. He's definitely brought out the best of me and has taught me so much not only about this career but also about life. Doing life with my best friend is all I've ever wanted to do and I couldn't ask for a better partner or co-worker. I don't think I could live without Mike making my coffee every morning and leaving a little note in the coffee mug filled with inspiration.

from mike: What is there not to love about Emily. She is absolutely gorgeous and her personality is so captivating. Emily's positive outlook on life has taught me to slow down and enjoy every second of every day. When it comes to filmmaking and photography, Emily's eye has done nothing but inspire me. I constantly find myself saying, "dang, why didn't I think of that shot?!" I feel so lucky to live and work everyday with her by my side and I can easily say that I would not be where I am today if I hadn't met her - or missed that internet bill. Also, if you ever see us at a bar that has karaoke, please put in Emily's name for "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus. She has her own little dance during the chorus and it's probably the best thing ever.
